Amazon will shut down fashion-focused Echo Look in July

Amazon's hands-free Echo Look camera, which was designed to snap photos of your daily looks and offer Alexa-powered fashion advice, has been discontinued. Starting July 24, Echo Look and companion Echo Look app will no longer work.

Echo Look was billed as a virtual fashion assistant. With Alexa on board and far-field microphones, you could stand a few feet away and say, "Alexa, how do I look," and it would snap a full-length photo capturing your entire attire. Then Amazon's virtual fashion consultant "Style Check" would kick in and users could review their photos and feedback in the dedicated Echo Look app.

Amazon points out that much of the Echo Look's functionality is now included in the Amazon Shopping app, including Style by Alexa, which involves the AI offering fashion pointers. The company says people should download the app to keep consulting with Amazon, and they should also recycle their Look through Amazon's program.

After July 24, you will not be able to access your photos and video through the Echo Look app. Instead, you can view your Echo Look media through your Amazon Photos account between now and July 24. If you don't have a photo account, you can set one up for free.
